I grew up in a small Missouri town where my father owned the local store. My parents taught us kids early on the importance of helping others.

Elder family members were always taken care of at home, with the extended family. I enjoyed those experiences of caring for others, which led me to pursue a career in medicine. Founding Bulverde Assisted Living was merely an extension of that desire to care for others.

As a surgeon I?ve had the privilege of caring for patients of all ages. My husband (also a surgeon) and I were blessed with the opportunity to care for his aging mother for six years. Sadly, her health reached a place where we could no longer care for her on our own. We searched for a local assisted living facility in which to place her. It was that experience that led us to start Bulverde Assisted Living.

Hello Gorgeous!  Thank you for allowing me to serve you through my Mary Kay business.  I am a passionate leader with over two decades of experience empowering women to grow in confidence, beauty, and purpose. I have been an audiologist for almost 20 years, and I have loved my career so far. I have worked with cochlear implants, monitored the brain and spinal cord in surgeries, worked in a hospital setting, and worked in an ENT clinic doing diagnostics and helping people hear again with hearing aids. I have always treated my patients like family, and anyone that is one of my patients can attest to that. I am excited to be the first audiologist in Bulverde/Spring Branch, and promise to deliver the level of care you need, with expertise, education, and compassion.  If you or anyone you know is looking to improve their quality of life by making their hearing better, we will be happy to have them as part of this journey. We love adding people to our story, and we love being part of theirs.

Glenda Rast, a retired Air Force Lt Col and (second career) Audiologist, now has what she considers to be the best job title of all: “Doing What I Want, When I Want.” She has a long history of giving back to the community and is an active volunteer with her church, several Veterans Organizations, the Hope Center Food Pantry, Ol’ Shavano Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Alzheimer’s Association.  She joined the Texas Hill Country Kiwanis Club in Fall 2021, currently serves as the President-Elect, and routinely participates in their service events.  She is a former, and current, member of the Chamber Ambassador Team.

CJ Johnson is an active Realtor and has been Licensed since 1989. She has participated in over 1100 completed real estate transactions including 8 years of local building experience. Shane Carter is a retired healthcare executive and consultant who managed multi-specialty medical groups for over 24 years.  After a long and stressful career in healthcare he was hungry and thirsty for real ministry.  It seemed irrational to keep doing the same thing while somehow hoping to fall into real ministry work.  So, in the fall of 2014, Shane walked away from a lucrative healthcare career in pursuit of life-giving ministry.   What he found is incredible joy, happiness, and fulfillment in working directly with those who are underserved and isolated.  In the summer of 2020 Shane formed Project 10:27 with the passion to reach lonely and isolated senior adults in San Antonio.

Leigh Neves is a real estate agent in the San Antonio, TX area who works with home buyers and sellers. Leigh received her Bachelors degree from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX and her Master's degree from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, TX. Her passion for helping people led to a 15 year career in Counseling in West Texas. After returning to the San Antonio area, Leigh translated her love for helping people with their life and career goals into helping people achieve their real estate goals. Leigh's enthusiasm for helping others helps her connect with clients and provide them with the best service possible. When Leigh is not assisting her real estate clients, she enjoy spending time with her husband, family, friends, and Australian Sheppard at the river and the lake!

  I am a Navy Veteran with 21 years of service as Navy Senior Enlisted leader/Air Traffic control Senior Chief. I received my master's degree from the University of Incarnate Word, which is where I discovered my love financial education and Loans. I am married to Daniel Schuyler, who is also a Navy Veteran-Seabee with 20 years of service. We have two beautiful daughters who were the driving force of us settling down with family here in Comal County. I have fallen in love with Comal County and everyone in it.

Committed to growth, he balances his career with interests in hiking, mountain biking, and his role as a dedicated husband. Laura Spears is a retired educator with 30 years of experience shaping young minds and building meaningful relationships within her community. For the past 14 years, she has also served as a devoted caregiver to her son, a wounded Army soldier, an experience that deepened her compassion, resilience, and understanding of the challenges faced by families providing care to loved ones.

Laura is the Program Director and co-owner of SarahCare at Encino Park, where she combines her passion for service, education, and advocacy to support older adults and their caregivers. She is married and proud to call Bulverde home, where she remains committed to strengthening community connections and helping families find the support, dignity, and care they deserve.
